F Factor Diet Reviews and Recommendations – The F-factor diet is designed and promoted by Tanya Zuckerbrot, M.S. R.D. based in New York City and Miami Beach.  This diet stresses the importance of inclusion of fiber in all meals.  The theory behind the F-factor diet is that whatever you eat, if you eat enough fiber, you will feel full quickly and you will not over-eat your meal and get your weight under control.

F-Factor diet focuses on consuming lots of fiber to help with satiety levels and to improve the appearance of your skin, hair and overall health. Highly recommended by doctors to patients dealing with certain medical issues, including diabetes and heart disease.

F stands for fiber of course.  According to the author of the book “the F Factor Diet”, fiber, which is the zero-calorie non digestible part of a carbohydrate, is the secret to losing weight without hunger.  Zuckerbrot says on her website ffactordiet.com “the more fiber a food has, the fuller you will feel after eating, leading you to eat less throughout the day”

Eliminating a food group entirely lacks creativity and simply isn’t natural, claims Zuckerbrot. The F Factor Diet is about adding foods that help with weight loss while increasing energy and good cholesterol, rather than wholesale subtraction and fasting. She claims the F Factor Diet will “reduce your risk factors for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, colon cancer and breast cancer” as well.

Lots of high fiber foods, including vegetables, berries, whole grains, beans and legumes and nuts. You aren’t asked to eliminate any food groups, although you are expected to reduce the consumption of refined carbohydrates and processed foods. Because fiber-dense foods are filling, it will feel like you are eating a lot, while you are actually staying around 1,000 calories a day.

The 200-plus page book gives out “more than 75 delicious recipes from appetizers through desserts and a complete set of guidelines for those who don’t want to cook – journal pages and helpful hints to keep dieters on track,” the publisher’s review says on Amzon.com about the book.

Still, like other fad diets, this F-factor diet has a set of rules, like a 3-stage program. That is understandable. If a diet is as simple as one phrase “eating more fiber”, then will be no ffactordiet.com and this “The F Factor Diet” book.  If everyone can follow that program or lengthy advice on how to use this F Factor Diet, good for them.  But if they can’t, they don’t have to worry because many people who have never heard of the F factor diet like the writer are able to maintain a great shape.

There’s an interesting post over at the Health Journal Club that makes the case that people should just not eat anything that wasn’t a food 100 years ago. Gets rid of the aspartame, bleached GM flour, high fructose corn syrup garbage they try to pass off as food these days. If interested you can read on it here,
