Transformers star Shia LaBeouf and girlfriend,British actress CAREY Mulligan ended their romance because it “wasn’t working”.

It has been previously speculated that Carey, who began dating Shia on the set of their new movie new movie Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps — has told close friends, “I’m moving back to England: it’s a long story”.

Sources disclosed to People magazine that LaBeouf and Mulligan ended their relationship “some time ago”.

Another insider told Us weekly magazine that Shia and Carey went separate ways because their relationship “just wasn’t working.”

Carey’s close friends duly believe that the actress could easily get over with the separation.

“She’s strong,” said the pal. “She’ll be fine!”

Since the split, Mulligan has been in Los Angeles shooting the indie film Drive, opposite Ryan Gosling. She checked in to the Best Western Hollywood Hills Hotel for a few days while the film shot nearby.

“I don’t know why people are so down on the Best Western,” Mulligan told reports at Monday’s Hollywood Film Awards in L.A., where she presented her Never Let Me Go costar Andrew Garfield with an award. “They have the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had.”
