Before Maxim Philippines closed down, the said men’s magazine hired two lovely celebrity writers and they are Krista Ranillo and Mocha Uson. Krista Ranillo was the cover girl of the March 2009 issue and was chosen as the resident sex columnist of the magazine. On the other hand, Mocha Uson of the Mocha Girls started her monthly blog which was launched at the February 2009 issue. Mocha Uson later on appeared on the April 2009 issue of Maxim together with her bestfriend Hershey delas Alas and confessed that she is bisexual.

In one incident, Mocha Uson and Krista Ranillo met at ABS-CBN. Mocha Uson narrated in her personal blog that she asked Krista if she had kissed a girl already. The latter said no, that’s why they had an intimate kiss which was witnessed by everyone in the area.
