Actor Michael Douglas who is battling with cancer took his family to Florida theme parks to spend their Thanksgiving weekend.

An insider told the PopEater website: “The trip was Michael’s idea. He wanted to take Catherine and the kids to the happiest place on earth after the hell the entire family has been through.

“Michael couldn’t look or feel healthier. After eight weeks of radiation and chemotherapy and a long time at home recuperating in his NYC apartment, Michael wanted to have some fun with his family.

“Now he knows how lucky he is every day to be surrounded by his amazing wife and children. It’s something he will never take for granted again.”

According to some reports, the couple has fallen deeper in and is eager to reaffirm their commitment to each other.

“Both Catherine and Michael know this marriage is forever, so they’ve decided to renew their vows. They fall deeper and deeper in love every day,” said the source.

“They’re going to have intimate ceremony. It’ll be exactly what Michael needs to give him strength, something to look forward to that will lift his spirits.”

National Enquirer reports that Catherine and Michael will invite their closest friend and family to the celebration, which they hope to commemorate by the end of the year.
