New Facebook Layout 2010: A Facebook Redesign for Millions of Facebook Users – A new Facebook redesign is being rolled out to the site’s 400 million users. According to Inside Facebook, 80 million users got the new home page layout yesterday, February 4, and more will be seeing the redesign shortly.
So what does the new Facebook layout look like?
The new Facebook layout includes a new home page design, and an applications and games dashboard.
A Facebook press release explained:
New Home Page Design
A simplified home page to provide easier access to what you’re looking for on Facebook. You can now quickly navigate to commonly-used areas of the site from the top and left hand menus. From the Top Menu, you can now easily find new messages, requests, and notifications using the icons in the top, left hand corner. The left hand menu is now where you can find all of your applications, previously located in the bottom dock. The links on the left will take you to your application dashboards. You can also find your Messages and Facebook Chat from the left hand menu.
Several changes has been conducted and there are also new navigation elements provided for the Facebook new layout of homepage. Some changes and additional features made by the Facebook team for the new Facebook layout are the list of Online Friends, simplified design, unified inbox and other applications and advertisements boxes.
In new Facebook chat, there is no need to click the chat box in order to view the online friends. This will appear automatically on the left side part of your homepage.The search box has been also moved from the top right to top left to improve navigational functions.
As one another change, new Facebook homepage will chart the online friends of the user with a prominence. It will help the user to chat with his friends so easily. Earlier, this service was available, but needed to open a separate window.
Facebook has been making different sample homepages for many months to test which will look more attractive to earn the attention more social net working users.
