If you pass by EDSA road these days, you would really give a second look to the “Men-in-Briefs” in its high rising billboards. They are the hot Philippine Rugby team known as the Philippine Volcanoes. It gained so much appreciation to some but there are sectors of the society who found the ads indecent. Their concern is basically on its impact to the children or the young viewers.

The Mayor of Mandaluyong City, Benhur Abalos requested the advertisers to remove the ads and his request was indeed granted. The ads became more popular when it was talked about in several social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook.

Valenzuela city mayor Sherwin Gatchalian tweeted first to the public last Thursday the possible removal when he tweeted: “Good news! Just talked to Mayor Abalos of Mandaluyong. He ordered the removal of the ‘men in briefs’ billboard! Thank you Mayor Abalos!”.

The removal of the billboard once again became a popular topic among netizens wherein a lot has been saying that if the billboard would be removed because it’s sexy and indecent, it should also be done to other billboards with similar concepts. They are pertaining to the billboard of Ally Borromeo of Philippine Azkals who also posed topless and on his briefs.
