Toyota is in the news again. Another recall has been called by Toyota Motors USA after the 2.3 million Toyota cars recalled list last week. Eight of its mostly new models were included in the most recent Toyota Recall List of which Toyota examines problems with sticking accelerator pedals.
This Toyota sales suspension could lead to a halt in production of these Toyota models for a week at five North American plants, Toyota Motor Sales USA said in a statement.
Toyota Models affected by the announcement were the 2009-2010 RAV4, 2009-2010 Corolla, 2009-2010 Matrix, 2005-2010 Avalon, as well as certain 2007-2010 Camry, 2010 Highlander, 2007-2010 Tundra and 2008-2010 Sequoia models, according to the statement. These are the Toyota models included in the suspension sales.
Due to this another Toyota sales suspension, Toyota said it expected to stop producing Toyota cars at five North American facilities for a week beginning February 1 “to assess and coordinate activities,” the statement said.
Among various list of Toyota recalls, Toyota pointed out that no Lexus Division or Scion vehicles were affected by the suspension of sales. Also unaffected were Toyota Models: Toyota Prius, Tacoma, Sienna, Venza, Solara, Yaris, 4Runner, FJ Cruiser, Land Cruiser and select Camry models, including all Camry hybrids, which the company said “will remain for sale.”
“Helping ensure the safety of our customers and restoring confidence in Toyota are very important to our company,” said Toyota Group Vice President Bob Carter said in a statement.
